Sunday, June 27, 2010 : 60 kg runner-up

hey guys, finally the rough days are over. But the fight isn't over. This is the first and definitely not the last you'll see of me. I just want to get a good rest and eat normally again after being on a diet for the past 2 weeks. I havent got enough sleep ytd since i had to wake up at 5am to jog so that i could i make weight on time since weighing in time was at 8am. The same goes for today. I was supposed to fight ytd, but then my opponent didn't show up which means I advanced to the final. And it's actually kinda sad to know that I will be fighting my own friend just now since he won his fight ytd. It was a great experience, given that he has 4 years experience of boxing behind him, while I had a few months not to forget this is my first competition. I was kinda nervous at first, feeling stiff in round 1. At the end of that round, I was trailing 1-3. I could say I did quite well in round 2 cos the score was 4-5. And then finally the last round, the score was 7-6 to my opponent. The result was actually a little shocking cos my main concern was not to get knock-out. I had some good punches in there, but I need to work on my defense. And lastly, thanks to everyone who had had given me support my sending those good luck messages. It really meant a lot to me. :) now is back to study, concentrating on the upcoming CT in 2 days time.

Sunday, June 20, 2010 :

Heys, it's Monday again hopefully without the blues. So yeah, we are done with the N.E Project. My plan for the week is to spot those impt theories and memorize them. And I don't have much time left- just 6 days away from the big day. I know training was always going to be tough for the next 5 days but I guess I'm ready. Ready to bring things to a new level.

Me studying alone while the rest do their proj at the other table. :(

It's a quarter past one. Nothing much really except that the days kinda passed by faster everyday. It's Friday again, and yeah it doesn't really make a diff since we r on a study break. But tmr I'm going out to visit the national museum with some of my friends for the N.E project. If you're wondering what N.E is, no joke but it's really national education. So yeah we're supposed to find out about the place and its history. Other than that, training has become more tougher. At the end of the day, the coach went up and told me, "stay strong". These two words actually motivated me to do better in training for the next day and the upcoming days before the competition. Many said they lost in their first competition by knock-out, so my point is I don't wanna get knock out. I want to fight till my heart stops beating. Maybe, I could catch the opponent by surprise. Until then, keep praying for me. Wish me luck and I'll do my best.

8 days remaining.

Saturday, June 12, 2010 : competition on the 26-27th of june

So i've decided to blog while waiting for the England Usa match to kick-off. By the way, i support team Spain. ;)

Alright firstly, I received word from my coach on Wednesday night that he decided to put me in a boxing competition which is held on the 26-27th of June. I know it's kinda risky since it's near to Common Test. But I decided to participate cos I wanted to earn some experience before going for the next one. I'm not expecting much, not to say medals. That would be somewhere later towards the end of the year. I just hope to do my best here. By the way, I'm in the Lightweight category-60kg and if you guys can come down support, it'll be great. :D. But I myself not sure where's the exact value. LOL! So yeah, ever since the night my coach told me I'm in, I worked out the following day like some mad guy since i am 64kg. Currently, I am 62 kg, but usually after exercising I am back to 61kg. I got hungry easily, so Im thinking of fasting in a few days time. I hope this will help me down in losing weight on the right time.

Friday, June 4, 2010 :

I'm glad to announce that it is finally the end of this hectic week. phew! No more presentations but erm, we got a lab test next week. Well, I'm still happy that finally we are done with the mock interview and presentations. I was nervous throughout the whole thing actually but I guess I pulled off fine except for the presentation where I stumbled a little. And the teacher just continued asking more and more questions. Alright, now that this is over, it's about time to concentrate more on the revision of common tests. And I guess I'll be back to training again this Monday, hoping my toe nail wouldn't have hurt anymore.

By the way, we had napfa test yesterday. The parts I did well were pull-ups(11), sit-ups(56), shuttle run(10 sec) and 2.4km run. I came in second, but during the first 5 rounds, i was leading all the way till the last 200m of the run. The teacher called me mad when he saw the timing for my first round and asked me to slow down. But I didn't listen to him =) After the whole thing was over, he came up to me and asked if I want to join the school running team for long distance. I was totally surprised but I rejected the offer since I wanted boxing to be the main priority. It also turned out the guy who came in first was from the school team, saying I was the better runner though I came in second. But at the end of the day, I got silver thanks to SBJ=( and got a napfa test adidas shirt.
